Helping Our Furry Friends During National Volunteer Month

At Atlantic City Electric, we are committed to powering communities and being good corporate citizens for the areas where our employees live and work. Throughout National Volunteer Month, hundreds of our employees supported dozens of local organizations, helping our community partners achieve their very important missions.

As part of this effort, dozens of our employees recently joined representatives with the Funny Farm Rescue Animal Sanctuary in cleaning the stalls, grounds and facilities that shelter unwanted, sick, injured, and abused animals. The Funny Farm Rescue Animal Sanctuary is a 15-acre privately-owned farm in southern New Jersey that cares for more than 550 animals. This is just one of more than 30 volunteer opportunities our employees participated in during National Volunteer Month.

While we are known for our commitment to providing clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy service for our customers, we also see it as our duty to give back to the communities we serve through volunteerism and charitable giving.

Atlantic City Electric’s Powering Communities program helps connect employees with volunteer opportunities throughout our service area. Through this program, about 350 employees volunteered more than 21,000 hours, a combined 2,600 work days, to benefit about 300 unique organizations throughout South Jersey in 2018.
